How fast kids learn to adapt - ParenthoodDiaries #25

How fast kids learn to adapt!

Recently I wrote about my kids watching a video comfortably after I put the TV on mute. Today, similar uncomfortable sounds were being played in another video, and they both closed their ears with hands and continued to watch the video.

Love Story Movie - Not able to be watching it in theaters

Pregnancy followed by Pandemic have made me switch the gears to watch movies on OTT platforms. I miss the way audience contribute to the background score, especially with their vigils. Nevertheless, I started loving the 'organic' entertainment that I get while I watch the movies alone, on the small screen of my mobile.

Now this movie #LoveStory , is making me feel something that I haven't felt for long, that I should have watched it only in theaters, on the big screen. Especially for the two raw characterizations that Shekhar Kammula has once again come up with - Revanth and Mouni. As well as to watch Sai Pallavi dancing to the magical tunes of Pawan.
Well, cannot do anything but to wait for the film's OTT release.
Congratulations to the entire cast and crew for pulling it off to be a successful project.

Mask generation kids - ParenthoodDiaries #24

There was a time when kids would recognize their parents getting ready to go out, if their mother wore dress or saree instead of nightie, or father wore shirt and pant.

Couple of days ago, I did not wear any special dress and kids still recognized that I was going out. Because, they saw me wearing a "MASK". Also, at times when I start to go out and forget to wear mask, they remind me to take it along.
"Mask generation" is indeed cooking up.

Kids and the inconvenient music - ParenthoodDiaries #23

My kids were watching a YouTube video and I was in kitchen. They suddenly started calling me, making annoyed faces. I went and saw that there was a troubling background music being played in the video, while showing an elephant eating food. Then I did put the TV on mute and they started watching the video comfortably. After few seconds I did unmute, and they started making faces again.

This made me recall my own experience, as to how I would mute the audio at times while watching horror movies. Some of you might recall similar experiences of yours.
I thought I had found out a way to watch horror movies. But today I realized that it's just a natural instinct to fear less with no audio. And that's why music directors contribute so much in a horror movie's successful run.

The Mint Plant!

From 25th April to 12th September - this is our journey together.

The mint plant lived through its hardships and I through mine. Life is neither easy nor difficult. It means beyond the joy and sorrow that we perceive. It means a lot. We must give life the due respect, ours and others.
Live and let live. Don't judge. Don't compare. Don't take for granted.

Nursery person addressed this as "Oxygen Plant".

Passing through a bulk - ParenthoodDiaries #22

When my boys do things that they thoroughly enjoy and which I can do nothing about, I recall this dialogue from the movie 'Interstellar' from the scene when they pass through the wormhole.

"Controls don't work here. We are passing through a bulk. All that we can do is just to record and observe "
And that fills my phone with loads of videos, heart with thumping memories.
We cannot get back their toddler days, but the recordings make us go back in time and enjoy those little, yet huge, moments. They grow up fast and we grow older with them too. But the recorded memories give each of us a chance to live in time and again, even for a while. I love recording their actions.

India @ Paralympics 2021

It's been an inspiring campaign by the Indian players at the Tokyo Paralympics 2020.

Congratulations
to the entire contingent and especially to the podium finishers, who held the nerve when it mattered the most.
