Straightforwardness (?)…!

Not that who say it out are straightforward and who don’t are not. Every single word said out given certain thinking, patience, concern, and most importantly understanding, to it, its the straightforwardness I believe in. In contrary, though people have many reasons to call themselves as straightforward, the so called “Straightforwardness” can never cover up the bluntness behind.

To those, for whom this attitude is out of reach, none appear straightforward except themselves and those who resemble their own clone (mentally) .

I am selectively straightforward but when I do, I want to send a message across that I honestly don't like them...or their actions and doings...

How are you Prams?

I missed you...:)

My own take on this is to quote the sloka
satyam bruyat priyam bruyat na bruyat satyam apriyam
priyam ca nanrutam bruyat esha dharmah sanatanah
Speak truth in such a way that it should be pleasing to others. Never speak truth, which is unpleasant to others.
Never speak untruth, which might be pleasant.
This is the path of eternal morality, sanatana dharma.
This should guide our speech..In the name of straightforwardness,we should not hurt but tell the truth pleasantly.Otherwise one should remain silent.

Pramoda,
Being straightforward is good as long as the answer may not have a negative impact on the other person. If there is, better not to say it. Friendship is more important than opinions.

well being straightforward is good sometimes but there lies a very thin line between being straightforward n rude.
We should continuously do a self-check !!

Nice read :)

being straightforward is good for sure but blunt ness hurts...
if people can be true n straight forward and not "rude" at the same time then they make fine human beings .

I think straightforwardness is the most important thing in a friendship. How can we live without learning to accept a bit of criticism? After all, no one's perfect! :)

a valuable piece of writing. Being specious is the worst thing ever in the friendship. If you have a good friend, he/she will be with you when you are suffering.

Thanks.

Being straightforward does not mean just speaking anything and everything. There needs to be some sense behind it :)

So is Revolution 2020 over all worth reading??
I'm not really fond of Chetan Bhagat's writing..

There's a very thin line which separate straightforward from rudeness. Unfortunately, some people unknowingly cross the line.

Pramoda,

Read all pending posts. It would be so good if one could convert negative emotions into motivation. Had a good laugh at water bottle cleaning one. 9/11 was really sad but such acts will not stop as long as we have misguided persons. I used to follow tennis regularly but lately have not done so. I agree if physical work can relieve one of mental stress one should take it up. CONGRATULATIONS on 500th post and what you say about motivational factor in the first three seems quite common. I agree with what you wrote in Dearest Relationship. One should go for psychological income as you said. I fully agree with 2nd quote in Happiness post. I Enjoy it Still is such good poem, thanks for clarifying it is fiction. One should never lose confidence in self. One should enjoy his or her drink and never let the drink enjoy him or her. One should always make efforts to understand other's point of view in any argument. It is human nature to cry over the same issue again and again but not laugh on the same jokes or situations. Good reviews of books. Success comes only with some sacrifice. The last line in Girls matching clothes says the truth. One should be straightforward but at times it may be advisable to use little diplomacy.

Take care

I believe I am straightforward but not blunt. I don't tell unpleasant things to people on their face but I make it known that I am not very pleased with it. And more often than not, people get the message.

Here after a long time! I see you have kept your tradition of posting something thought provoking :)
