Parents say certain things casually. Kids observe and learn them. The problem is, they do it briskly; we may not even notice what they are learning until they themselves showcase it all.
I used to tell Bharat & Bhuvan multiple times about how they must tell their mind to control itself, like when they want to eat more, play more or when they cry etc. The other day they asked me - "Amma, why hadn't you told your mind that you should not scold us?".
And my routine dialogue, around not able to make time to play much or tell stories on weekdays, is also inspiring them to say jokingly - "we don't have time to tell you what we learnt in school; we don't have time to tell you what we have done at our friend's place".
And the list has just now begun!
